Roger Lucien Lavallee Sr. of Lisbon Falls, ME passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on December 23, 2020 at age 85. Roger was born on March 26, 1935, in Brunswick, ME to parents Francis Lavallee Sr. and Juliet Therrien Lavallee. In his youth, Roger served his country in the United States Marine Corps doing a tour aboard ship under Admiral Arleigh Burke, who he would meet again years later when Burke visited Bath Iron Works. He also started and coached the Little League baseball team, ‘Jr. 88ers’, which paved the way for many more teams being added to form the Lisbon Junior Athletic League. Sons Bruce and Roger Jr. played on the team and son James was the mascot as a baby. Roger was recognized by LJAL for his efforts June 2, 2007 as honorary opening day pitcher. Roger worked construction, driving oil and cement trucks before starting work at Bath Iron Works in 1979. He retired from BIW in 2001, after 22 years. In his retirement, Roger spent many summers camping with family and friends on East Grand Lake in Danforth, ME. He also enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, and moose hunting with his grandchildren. He was a talented woodworker and made many treasured pieces for his family. Roger is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheila Gayton Lavallee; children, Bruce Lavallee and wife Donna, Kelley Campana and husband Dennis, James Lavallee and wife Rande; grandchildren, Matthew Lavallee and wife Jan, Natasha Testa and husband David, Whitney Ratliff and husband Jeffery, Samantha Thibeault and husband Andrew, Carly Lavallee and partner Neil, James Lavallee Jr., Jessica Davis, Michael Clinton and wife Liz, and Matt Sidelinger; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Priscilla Barber and husband Earle; many nieces and nephews. Roger was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Gerard Lavallee, Francis Lavallee Jr., Morris Lavallee; sisters Louise Stegemoller and Constance Monroe; children, Deborah Wilson, Roger Lavallee Jr.; grandchildren Jennifer Wilson and Casey Campana. A celebration of Roger's life and burial will take place in the Spring.
